About

The Vineyard Restaurant at Three Choirs makes the most of its setting among the vines in Newent, Gloucestershire, pairing seasonal British cooking with wines produced on the estate. Led by chef Newstead Sayer, the kitchen focuses on locally sourced ingredients and thoughtful combinations designed to sit naturally alongside the vineyard’s sparkling, white, rose and red wines.

The restaurant itself reflects its vineyard setting, with wooden floors, exposed brick, wine barrel tables, chandelier-style lighting and decorative hanging wine-bottle features. Outside, tables sit beneath a pergola surrounded by greenery and vines, creating a particularly picturesque spot for lunch or dinner in warmer weather. The combination of fine dining, vineyard views and knowledgeable wine service makes it especially well suited to dates, birthdays and other special occasions.

Dinner might begin with snacks such as pickled red mullet, sardines or hash browns with black pudding and hen’s egg, before moving on to starters like chicken liver pate, sea trout or Dorset brown crab crumpet with crab mayonnaise and apple. Main courses could include Gloucester Old Spot pork chop with spring vegetables, aged Herefordshire beef sirloin with cheddar rarebit, or Cornish monkfish with morels and asparagus.

Saturday lunch takes a more relaxed approach, with nibbles, sharers and small plates such as tomato salad, warm pork pies and cheese and onion crackers, followed by cheese boards, sweet boards and desserts including lemon meringue tart. Sunday lunch brings an elevated version of the traditional roast, with choices such as beef, pork, chicken or herb-crusted celeriac, served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, stuffing, vegetables and gravy. Half portions are available for children, while vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are also catered for.

Wine is central to the experience. Guests can order Three Choirs bottles by the glass or bottle, explore guest wines and Champagne, or ask the team for pairing recommendations throughout the meal. Guests can also make the most of various tours, such as the Self-guided Wine Tasting which is available each weekend and includes lunch and a vineyard walk, or the Guided Winery Tour, Tasting and Lunch which is available from Wednesday to Sunday all year round.
