The Surrey Oaks

We booked a table for 10 although in fact there were 8 of us two days prior to eating.  I requested that we should not be near the car park.  There appeared to be no record of the booking.  We were finally seated and eventually brought menus.  It was approximately half an hour before we were brought a drinks menu.  The food took a long time to come and was at best average when it appeared.  The special was pork belly, the fat had not been rendered and it was described as 'fine'.  Every time we wanted something, like another round of drinks we had to catch the eye of someone.  The final insult was that we were not able to leave off a tip as service (such as it was and it was generally agreed to be poor) was included.
