SquareMeal Review of The Sisters Kelvingrove

The last episode of Sex and the City was broadcast in the US back in 2004, but its influence lives on among the clientele at this sibling of The Sisters Jordanhill. Tables of wannabe Carries and Samanthas mingle with the smart set in a cool, upscale space defined by charcoal and black tones, abstract seascapes and twee tartan fabrics. The food is rooted in Scotland (Uist langoustines, Arisaig venison, hams from Ramsay’s of Carluke etc,), but the kitchen gives everything a modern spin – think Grimsay Bay scallops, smoked pancetta, pea purée and red pepper coulis, roast chicken breast with crispy Dingwall haggis, creamed turnip and whisky jus or seared Crabster cod with chorizo and tenderstem broccoli. To conclude, there are Scottish cheeses, plus desserts ranging from traditional cloutie dumpling to chocolate fondant with raspberry coulis and coconut ice cream.
