There are many places in London where you can drink and dine with a view, but The Rooftop at One Hundred Shoreditch has got to be one of the most stylish. Located in East London, and only a minute’s walk from Shoreditch High Street, this trendy bar and terrace can be found on the top floor of the independent hotel where it offers panoramic views across London below.
The lush interiors take inspiration from Palm Springs in California. A colour palette of soft pinks and verdant greens provide a calming oasis for those looking to grab a drink after work or perhaps a romantic first-date cocktail. Leafy plants and cacti in large terracotta pots are dotted around the space while pink floors and a pink-tiled bar provide the room with photo-worthy appeal. Finally, large windows ensure the room remains bright, and even sun-soaked, throughout the day, while at night the space is illuminated by cosy lamp light.
Out on the alfresco terrace, discover garden-style tables and chairs, more plant-filled terracotta pots and, most importantly, beautiful views of the city’s skyline.
The food menu comprises a selection of snacks and small plates that are perfect for sharing with friends. Discover a range of retro Californian-inspired dishes such as devilled eggs with chives and mustard, grilled king prawns with mango, tomato and chilli salsa, a soft-shell crab burger with fennel and chilli coleslaw and crispy fried chicken with a sweet and sour glaze.
A cocktail list of light but punchy creations include a White Negroni, made with gooseberry gin, Italicus and martini ambrato, and a Lemongrass Margarita that mixes lemongrass-infused tequila with agave syrup and lime. Elsewhere on the drinks menu, a well-formed selection of sparkling and Champagnes, wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks are available.
Note that the outside terrace cannot be booked and tables are allocated on a first come first serve basis.
