From the team that brought us Bramble, retro-styled Lucky Liquor ain’t no speakeasy: a giant ‘liquor’ sign makes it hard to miss and the vibe is more ‘open door and white tiles’ than ‘hard-to-find-door and dark wood’. The menu raises a few eyebrows with a veritable shopping trolley of unusual cocktail ingredients, from ‘bubblegum bubbles’ and ‘disco sherbet’ to fig preserve, black peppercorn syrup and citric acid. Get into the spirit of the place by ordering a smoky, rich Staypuff (mezcal, marshmallows and egg yolk) or Mad Hatter (buttered Cognac, honey water and aromatic bitters). The clever concept of 13 spirits and 13 cocktails means you don’t have to get bogged down in a bible of a list – so kick back, spin some vinyl (there’s a deck on the bar) and enjoy the vibe. Lucky for some.
