About

With a rich history tracing back to 1852, The New Inn, previously named The Bracken Fox, had its roots firmly established by a young farmer and innkeeper, William Wrigglesworth, at the tender age of twenty-six. The existing structure, a 1930's roadhouse, stands adjacent to the site of the former New Inn. This more modern establishment once housed its brew house, faithfully serving the pub for years until only recently. The New Inn continues to embody its storied past while evolving with the times, in the present day, The Inn at Scarcroft is a proud member of the lovely Vintage Inns chain.

To start, enjoy the chargrilled lamb koftas paired with baba ganoush, tzatziki, beetroot, and a side of tortilla. Alternatively, indulge in the irresistible sticky crispy chicken accompanied by a delectable chipotle chilli jam, or relish the velvety duck pâté, expertly glazed with orange and served with sourdough toast and a side of red onion chutney. These exquisite starters set the stage for a diverse selection of main courses, including a succulent chicken breast stuffed with wilted spinach and mozzarella, wrapped in pancetta, and served with green beans, crispy fries, and a luscious Portobello and Porcini mushroom sauce. Alternatively, experience the seared fillet of sea bass, expertly paired with a pea and crispy bacon velouté, served alongside steamed broccoli and spring onion mash, or delight in the rich and flavorful beef and red wine lasagne.

For those with a sweet tooth, the mango and passion fruit pavlova is a must-try treat. This dessert masterpiece features a meringue cloud adorned with luscious whipped cream, tropical mango, passion fruit coulis, and generous white chocolate chunks, creating a harmonious symphony of sweet flavours and delightful textures.

The Inn at Scarcroft's well-appointed bar boasts an impressive selection, ranging from locally crafted hand-pulled ales and ciders to timeless classic cocktails. Catering to a wide range of preferences, their thoughtfully curated assortment of soft beverages and mocktails ensures that every guest discovers their perfect refreshment.
