Located in the Moseley neighbourhood, The Fighting Cocks pub is the best of British, and is exactly what you'd expect of a traditional British pub. The pub has had a facelift in recent years, but still features much of its original period features. On a sunny day the courtyard is a popular choice with locals, giving you the space to whisk yourself away from the stresses of everyday life.
Start off with some snacks for the table while sipping on a refreshing Hugo Spritz. Enjoy chorizo sausages glazed with chilli honey, artichoke, red pepper and tomato arancini balls and a handmade scotch egg with golden beetroot piccalilli. Starters include sticky miso chicken skewers with yakiniku BBQ sauce and miso dressing, punchy baked king prawns and chorizo in garlic butter with cherry tomatoes, and crispy fried mozzarella with caponata, tomatoes and olives. There are always daily specials up on the board, prepared by the team of chefs at The Fighting Cocks, so be sure to check out what’s new. Permanent main dishes include British outdoor bred pork sausages and mash with crispy spiced onions and a red wine sauce, a delicious spiced falafel burger with applewood smoked vegan slice, pico de gallo salsa and chipotle chilli jam, and pan fried sea bass fillets with ratte potatoes, sauteed leeks, peas and chorizo, lemon, thyme and a white wine veloute. Enjoy rosemary and parmesan fries smothered in white truffle infused oil on the side of your main, or a nourishing cherry tomato and grain salad.
A set amount of cash from each dessert purchase is donated to charity, which will make your sweet treat taste all the better. Choose from a sticky toffee pudding with ginger ice cream, a traditional tiramisu, or apple, plum and damson crumble with vanilla crème anglaise.
