The Farmhouse Restaurant started in Coventry over ten years ago as an up-market dining concept delivering incredible service and thoughtful, seasonal food to locals - and soon - a cult fanbase. For years, customers have been asking for another offering from the brand; a more relaxed, bistro-style dining that means they can enjoy The Farmhouse's food even more often.
Welcome to The Farmhouse Bistro which has popped up (but is here to stay) in Birmingham's Selfridges and finally gives fans the opportunity to dine breakfast, lunch and dinner - if they so wish! The Farmhouse team like to do things a little differently so you'll find that every page of the menu has the wow factor. To start, for example, drinks include - no standard latte or flat white - but iced matcha with milk chocolate and coconut or banana and caramel, flavoured lattes such as the Spanish Sunrise a touch of turmeric and sweet condensed milk.
Smaller plates start off with melt-in-your-mouth beef short ribs with smoky Bombay BBQ sauce, alongside mac and cheese croquettes, and bang bang chicken strips. Sandos - the trendy, fully-packed Japanese-style sandwiches loaded onto milk bread - are filled with the likes of tender pulled beef, melted cheese and caramelised onions, or golden shrimp glazed with mango-habanero chutney, mint mayo, gem lettuce, melted cheese and crispy fried onions.
As for larger plates, you can't go wrong with a classic ceaser salad combining special touches like brioche croutons and honey-roasted walnuts, or the parmesan chicken served with Farmhouse chips, but we like the sound of the Indian fish and chips with crispy spiced cod-fillet and creamy slaw.
Desserts sound to die for with absolutely loads of delicious options to choose from. How about the Matilda Cake with chocolate fudge, moist sponge and vanilla bean ice cream? Or, who could resist the Black Forest Pancakes with Black Forest coulis, Belgian
chocolate drizzle and Maraschino cherries? And, there's plenty more where these came from.
