The Cut & Craft feels like an old worldly venue as soon as you step through the doors, with dark wooden accents and elegant furnishings, but the chain's humble beginnings only date back to 2019. The Manchester venue, which is the third in the Cut & Craft family, is the latest in the group, showcasing the same sophisticated interiors and vibrant menus that the group is known for. The brand takes its inspiration from the British heritage venues that they find themselves housed within, and the team seeks to provide an experience that lives up to their award-winning reputation – with a luxurious feel, quality produce and wonderful environment.
Begin with delicious nibbles, like the homemade bread basket with herb and chilli butter, while you peruse the menu and decide on what courses will follow. There is a fantastic selection of oysters and caviar, including Rockefeller oysters with spinach, parmesan and breadcrumbs, and imperial beluga black caviar with creme fraiche, capers, chives, shallots, and lemon and black truffle crisps.
To start your main meal, try the foraged wild mushrooms with black truffle puree, smoked leek sauce and crispy pave potato, delicious hazelnut hummus with house pickles and toasted sourdough or British pork belly with crackling, chorizo and smoked cannellini bean puree. We were impressed to see so many premium steaks to choose from, including a chateaubriand that is grilled to your liking, and a selection of sauces that include bone marrow gravy and chimichurri sauce. There's a long list of sides, including charred asparagus and spinach, buttered mash with white truffle oil and panko onion rings.
If we were sticking around for dessert, we'd be drawn in by the peach mousse encased in a white chocolate glaze with homemade honeycomb and peach sorbet, or the lemon meringue baked Alaska.
