Set in a handsome Georgian building in Shipston-on-Stour, Warwickshire, The Bower House is a stylish and warmly inviting restaurant that celebrates British, French and Mediterranean-inspired cooking. The interiors are bold and warm, with eclectic art, plush leather booth seating, and deep green velvet curtains, complemented by exposed brickwork, lantern lighting and a glowing log burner - making it an atmospheric spot for everything from romantic dinners to relaxed gatherings.
The Bower House offers a variety of menus for its diners, whether you're visiting for breakfast, lunch or dinner, with a Sunday lunch menu also available. Set menus offer incredibly affordable dining options, with a dedicated kids' menu for those looking to make it a family day out.
The tasting menu offers six courses, with the chance to add a wine or fine wine pairing available, for those looking to elevate their meal even further. Dishes include delights such as beef tartare, scallop ravioli, South Coast lamb, lemon thyme ice cream, and a show-stopping lemon meringue pie soufflé. British cheeses can be added as an extra course, for an additional cost. A plant-based version is also offered, with options such as heritage beetroot with horseradish ice cream, and new season leeks with gnocchi and wild garlic.
The set lunch menu is available Wednesday to Saturday, with the option to order two, three, or six courses, with a glass of wine. You'll also find a set supper menu on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, which follows a similar structure, offering seasonal dishes like torched mackerel with heritage tomatoes, potato risotto with wild garlic and pickled onion, or pork collar with charred hispi cabbage and a wholegrain mustard sauce.
Sunday lunch is a la carte, with a highlight being the pre-order Beef Wellington, part of a three-course menu designed for leisurely weekend dining.
