About

Sri Suwoon Thai restaurant is one of the hidden gems of London's Victoria and Pimlico and just a short stroll from Sloane Square tube. The restaurant is found down a quiet side street between Victoria Station and the river. With bright
white walls, bold graphic photography and international music, the ambience is young and cool. Chef/patron Pat
has created a menu that offers all your favourite Thai classics as well as a few more modern dishes as well, and the menu changes from time to time to reflect the freshest produce available each season. The short, affordable wine list has been selected to complement the Thai flavours and the staff are keen and helpful. Sri Suwoon is one to try.

Really delightful Thai Cooking not far from Victoria Station. A personal, family run feel comes through the staff and the menu. Dinner was brimming with wonderful flavours and fragrances. Larb Nua salad was thrilling with a spicy zest – perfectly chargrilled rib eye beef, fresh lime, crisp papaya and shallots. My wife's Choo Chi Plah – sea bass with red curry (on the specials board) was delicately cooked with a crispy skin and tender meat and the fried lime leaf topping contrasted the rich curry with a pleasing ‘tang’. Desserts are simple like fresh honey mango – but I couldnt resist the sesame banana fritter. ‘Drunken’ ice cream came with a good measure of a moorish dark Pedro Ximenez sherry – which we actually continued with as a dessert ‘wine’. Wines are well priced and carefully selected for the menu – we had a crisp Emiliana Reserva 2011 Riesling at £21.50. Staff are warm and helpful and happy to explain the complex ingredients – like ‘Phuk’ (actually a white vegetable used in soups). The design provides an understated but contemporary back drop to the menu with whites, black and white Thai prints and fresh flowers on every table. Certainly a lovely Valentine's Day idea…

Delicious food with an interesting menu and friendly, smiling service. Worth seeking it out as it is off the main street.
