Offering handmade, delicious goods in Manchester, Pollen is a bakery and cafe that has been whipping up a storm since 2016. The Ancoats bakery is the brand's flagship location at Cotton Wharf, next to the marina, and offers a cosy setting for a delicious brunch or pick up and take away treat. The bakery is open from Wednesday through to Sunday, between 8am and 4pm – perfect for picking up that sweet treat on the school run.
Drinks are a huge part of the culture at Pollen, with a great selection of coffees, including cortados, flat whites and iced lattes, with the option to add an in-house made syrup. Along with tea, hot chocolate and other hot drinks, there is a selection of house made seltzers, iced teas and sodas, made fresh each day by the barista team. If you need a health boost in the morning, order the strawb cold pressed juice, with strawberry, apple, lemon and basil. All day dishes include a spiced porridge with quince compote and caramelised walnuts, delicious eggs Benedict with ham hock, Cacklebean eggs, brown butter hollandaise and crispy kale on toasted 28 hour sourdough, and a Welsh leek sausage and set egg bun. Lunch is served from 10.30am and includes seasonal Turkish eggs with roasted butternut squash, garlic yoghurt and pumpkin seeds, a tasty pastrami grilled cheese with sauerkraut and dijon mustard, and apple crumble French toast with vanilla cream, apple crumble and caramel apple juice.
