In a post lockdown world we’re all used to recipe boxes by now, as some of our favourite restaurants packed up ingredients and sent them to us to make at home, but perhaps none quite as exciting as this. Now, everyone’s favourite baking show The Great British Bake Off is ready to send its own touch of magic to you.

The Bake Off Box is the official subscription box to go along with series 12, and the return of The Great British Bake Off. The three boxes each contain one surprise recipe for the months of September, October and November and will match the challenges set by Paul and Prue. Until the boxes have been sent, you have no idea what you’re getting yourself into (exciting or terrifying depending on your baking skills), but suffice to say this could be very fun with friends, or even just to post on social media to see how you stack up against the nation.

The box itself will contain a bespoke piece of equipment in duck-egg blue, which is itself a pretty nice offering, the surprise recipe and illustrated recipe card to go with it, pre-measured dry ingredients (at least the scales don’t have to come out) and a collectable postcard illustrated by the show’s own Tom Hovey.

To get the bundle of all three you need to order by 31 August, which costs £59.97 and will be delivered straight to your door through the Royal Mail (free delivery), or should you just want to test the waters of your baking ability to begin with you can set up a rolling subscription for £19.99 a month which can be cancelled anytime.

For each box sold, 50p will go to the Stand Up To Cancer charity, so as you bake along to the show, making your own treats, you can feel as though you’ve done some good in the process.
