Set in the idyllic Hampshire countryside, Malverleys Farm & Dining is a restaurant rooted in the rhythms of nature, the charm of the English landscape and a sincere love of good food. Created by Emily von Opel, Malverleys is more than just a place to eat, it’s a thoughtfully crafted space where community, sustainability and seasonality come together.
Housed within a working farm, the restaurant is part of a wider offering that includes a deli, shop and lecture room - all designed to bring people together and celebrate the land. The menus at Malverleys are inspired by the traditional country cooking of France and Italy, shaped daily by what’s growing in the garden, what’s fresh from the local fields, and what the season has to offer.
In the dining room, the food is elegant but unfussy, thoughtfully prepared, simply presented and deeply rooted in place. Guests might begin with toasted Malverleys sourdough with Heckfield butter, a plate of air-cured ham, or perhaps South Coast octopus with smoked tomato, red pepper and flatbread. There’s a freshness and honesty to every dish, from beetroot-cured Hampshire trout to early season heritage tomatoes with burrata and aged balsamic.
Main courses champion quality local produce. You can expect plates like Malverleys Estate lamb with crispy shoulder and Jersey Royals, wood-fired courgettes with black garlic and toasted seeds, or Cornish mussels in saffron and chorizo broth, served with skinny fries and sourdough for soaking up every last drop.Puddings are simple pleasures done beautifully, think Basque cheesecake with blood orange, white chocolate mousse with poached rhubarb, or a scoop of homemade ice cream.
At Malverleys, the setting is as nourishing as the food. Whether you're sharing a long lunch with friends, dining under the soft glow of evening, or simply browsing the shop and deli, it’s a place to connect, to nature, to good food, and to each other.
