Maison is a small, family-run restaurant in Wrecclesham, just outside Farnham, run by chef Ben Piette and his wife Lornette. The restaurant occupies Wrecclesham House, a 15th-century building full of original character, including a historic bread oven, with the couple living upstairs and the ground floor converted for dining.
With a maximum of five tables, including "Ben's Table" set in front of the open kitchen, Maison is designed to feel intimate and personal, more like a dinner party in someone's home than a conventional restaurant. It's open four nights a week, with dinner served from 19:30.
The menu is a set tasting menu of around eight courses, priced at £85 per person, rather than an à la carte offering. The cooking has a French base and changes regularly, built around local and seasonal ingredients. Guests booked onto Ben's Table can bring their own ingredient for the chef to incorporate into an extra course.
