If you've got a passion for flavourful, punchy Korean cuisine, independent restaurant Lime Orange offers an authentic menu in the heart of London's Victoria. Here, amongst some of the capital's buzziest streets, the restaurant's concept is perfectly matched, inspired by electric neighbourhoods of Seoul and its ever-evolving food scene.
The space itself is paired back, offering a simple, relaxed atmosphere that lets the food do the talking. Wooden tables, simple chairs and atmospheric pendent lighting create a place that you can meet friends, family or colleagues - serving particularly well for after work dinner or drinks, especially thanks to the business-heavy and well-connecting area.
Of course, the main reason for booking a table at Lime Orange is the food. You're welcome to dine in or take away, and the team have some specialities they're excited to share. First off, a broad selection of starters allow diners to try a little bit of everything. There's kimchee panakes topped with spring onions for a savoury bite, as well as Japanese glass noodles crafted from sweet potato, and chicken katsu with sweet and sour sauce. You have to try the Yangyeum Korean fried chicken, which is a house signature.
Across the mains, both the bibimbap and bulgogi dishes are specialities, too. The house bibimbap has been mastered over nine years and includes seven individually marinated vegetables to ensure the dish feels full and flavourful. This rich dish comes with a mix of options including seafood, chicken, pork, beef and tofu. While the bulgogi focuses on a rich, heady sauce with an umami undertone. Choose between spicy chicken or pork belly, or soy pork belly or beef. Noodle dishes offer lots of variation, too. There's spicy chicken egg noodle, seafood udon, chicken katsu udon and another take on the bulgagi dishes, with added egg noodles.
The drinks menu is worth a mention too, with Korean and Japanese options like soju plum wine and Terra Korean beer.
