If you pay upward of £17 for a dish in a Chinese restaurant, you do expect a decent portion size. But you don't get one in Kaifeng. The beef dish – which was in fact over £18 – consisted of seven pieces of meat padded out with large amounts of onion and lettuce. For dessert seven lychees cost £5.50. There was no soft drinks menu and as the bill wasn't itemised so I dread to think how much the coffee and coke cost. I know that you pay a premium for kosher food, but I felt I had been ripped off at this restaurant and that leaves a very bad taste.
