Isaac’s is a glamorous British brasserie nestled within The Grand Hotel in the heart of Birmingham, a historic grand-madame which was built back in the 1800s. After closing its doors for 20 years, a huge £50 million renovation has seen the hotel re-open with stunning interiors, honouring its heritage and architecture, while welcoming in a new era.
Isaac's restaurant is a fabulous all-day spot that combines the grandeur of a great British brasserie with a touch of French flair. In terms of the setting, think a bottle green colour scheme, classic metro tiling and big, leather booths, perfect for whiling away the evening with a cocktail in hand.
Dishes here are treated with a modern approach, taking tried-and-tested classics and reinventing them for a new audience. With a focus on seasonal ingredients and locally-sourced produce, you'll find an array of dishes suited to every mood and occasion, from burgers, steaks and signature mains, all the way through to an array of vegetarian and plant-based options.
There is an array of nibbles, sharing boards and starters to begin your meal with, from charcuterie grazing boards to elegant plates such as asparagus and prosciutto with poached egg and hollandaise. For the main event, choose from a selection of premium burgers and 28-day, dry-aged steaks, all of which are served with a portobello mushroom, beef tomato and salted chunky chips. While signature mains include confit pork belly with pommes anna, fennel and pineapple jus, or sautéed girolles risotto with asparagus, parmesan and truffle oil.
Come the weekend, and Isaac's also does a decent trade in Sunday roasts, testament to one of the UK's most popular culinary traditions. All roast meats are sourced from award winning butchery supplier Aubery Allen and served with beef fat roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and red wine gravy.
