Nestled in the heart of Glasgow, Hazel offers a modern and inviting dining experience that seamlessly blends seasonal Scottish ingredients with Mediterranean influences.
Hazel is part of a vibrant new leisure and residential destination in the city centre. The restaurant's design draws inspiration from the hazel branch depicted in Glasgow's original city crest, featuring a central hazel tree and sculptural lighting elements that echo the city's rich heritage.
The interior is stylish and contemporary, with natural wood finishes, warm lighting, and a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide plenty of natural light during the day and a cosy ambience in the evening, making Hazel equally suited to business lunches, romantic dinners and social gatherings.
Under the guidance of head chef Eric Avenier, formerly of The Atlantic Bar and Brasserie and Mar Hall Hotel, Hazel's menu emphasises the use of fresh, locally sourced Scottish produce infused with Mediterranean flair. Diners can choose from a variety of small and large plates, such as Merguez sausage and haggis croquettes, seared Scottish king scallops with Iberico black pudding, pan-roasted hake, and roast haunch of venison. The menu caters to various dining preferences, offering an express lunch menu for city workers and shoppers, as well as a children's menu designed to delight younger guests.
Complementing the culinary offerings is an extensive drinks list featuring artisanal cocktails, including the signature Hazel 75 and the indulgent Crossbill 200 martini, crafted in collaboration with Glasgow's Crossbill gin distillery. The wine selection and locally sourced beers further enhance the dining experience.
Hazel offers everything from morning coffees and brunch to elegant evening dining, all in the heart of Glasgow’s bustling city centre. With its thoughtful menu, stylish surroundings, and commitment to local produce, Hazel stands out as a welcome addition to the city’s evolving food scene.
