Modern British restaurant Haxells Restaurant & Bar is located within the Strand Palace hotel where it serves an all-day menu of sandwiches, grills, burgers and sharing plates. With a focus on provenance and sourcing top-quality ingredients, diners can expect a selection of impeccable dishes that are sure to please everyone, while breakfast and afternoon tea menus are also available for all those in-between moments.
The dining room is decorated in a beautifully lit, modern style, with mirrored columns, yellow finishes and a range of banquet and armchair seating. Tables are well spaced to give everyone plenty of privacy while they dine, while a glamorous yellow bar makes a great spot to perch at with a cocktail.
The all-day menu includes lighter and more indulgent options for lunch and dinner. An international range of small plates includes things like halloumi fries with mint yoghurt and pomegranate, while starters include the likes of smoked salmon with horseradish crème fraiche and roasted beetroot. Guests can opt between a selection of mains, grills or burgers for something more substantial, including a Haxells burgers featuring truffle mayonnaise, pickled red cabbage and cheddar cheese, or fillet of seabass with a warm salad of shaved fennel and orange, rosemary new potatoes and shallot dressing. Desserts also follow the classic route, with lemon tart, chocolate brownie and creme brulee on offer.
The cocktail list encompasses all the classics, from mojitos to margaritas. While its main drinks offering includes a global wine list available by the glass or bottle, Champagne, sparkling, spirits, beers, liqueurs and aperitifs.
For those looking to grab a quick bite before a show, Haxells’ also offers a pre-theatre menu in the late afternoon/early evening which includes three courses and a choice of sides.
