You’ve probably heard of Grind, or seen their viral pink packaging splattered all over social media, and with good reason. The brand is on a mission to change the way that the world drinks coffee for the better, and following David and Kaz' passion that turned an old mobile phone store in Shoreditch into a cafe by day and cocktail bar by night. Grind has evolved to become the 'it' venue offering harmony between coffee and cocktails, offering a relaxed space for all-day dining. Now, there are fourteen locations across London, including this one, in London Bridge.
Breakfast is served until midday, and begins with acai bowls with peanut butter, fig, banana, coconut and house granola, a deliciously creamy grilled cheese with onion and grain mustard chutney and a fried egg, and wild mushroom hash with poached eggs, aged parmesan and sourdough toast.
The main menu is something of wonder, with plenty of delicious dishes to choose from, whether you're a meat eater or plant-based foodie. Try the whipped tofu and flatbread with heritage beetroot and aged balsamic to share, or vegan meatballs in tomato sauce with vegan parmesan. Main dishes include a classic haddock fish and chips with crushed peas, lemon and tartare sauce, 12-hour beef lasagna with chicken butter sauce, and prawn katsu sando with tempura prawns, dijonnaise, cabbage and shallots.
The dessert menu is simple but effective, and of course, includes coffee. There's the Grind house blend tiramisu, along with a sour cherry affogato. You'll also find several ice cream flavours, a chocolate and peanut sundae with brownies and whipped cream, and spiced apple crumble. Be sure to pair your dessert with one of the coffee cocktails, with a variety of options including the Hot Flat White Russian, with house blend espresso, Grey Goose vodka, Tia Maria and oat milk.
