FYR is the restaurant at the North Lakes Hotel & Spa, and offers up a selection of grilled meats and tasty fine-dining dishes in its open-plan, theatre-style grill. After a day of spa treatments and relaxing by the pool, guests can choose their dish and watch it being cooked in front of them on an open fire grill. Cooking meat in the most traditional of ways, you can really watch your dish come together from start to finish. This is an exciting touch to this hotel and is also open to non-hotel guests too.
Although its speciality is meats, you’ll also find a list of French and British classics on the menu that will satisfy your savoury craving. From the grill, try the signature steak or one of the kebabs. Prefer seafood instead? The grilled lobster Thermidor – with Gruyere cheese and a side of your choice – is sure to please. Going veggie? The sweet potato and chickpea falafel will keep you full until breakfast the next day. The simple but well-put-together menu means that each dish is prepared to a top standard.
On the dessert menu, you’ll find the best of all the classics. Finish off your meal with a sticky toffee pudding if you’re looking for something warm and hearty. Or for something a little fresher, the Eton mess with berries and a lime meringue is a tasty treat.

The restaurant, which was designed to match the Cumbrian countryside surrounding of the hotel, makes for a rustic and cosy atmosphere to enjoy an intimate dinner or a family-get-together alike, whether you are a hotel guest or just happen to be passing by.
