About

Found in the picturesque market town of Wallingford, Five Little Pigs is a neighbourhood restaurant and bar that’s earned its place as a favourite amongst Oxfordshire locals. The restaurant takes its name from the Agatha Christie novel, a nod to the author’s ties to the area, offering a contemporary dining experience with menus rooted in sustainability and seasonality. Five Little Pigs comes from Sam, Aimee and Rob, Wallingford locals, two of which own and run The Keep, a beloved gin and craft-beer bar which has been running for over a decade.

Inside, the dining room features a clean, modern aesthetic with soft, earthy tones. Large windows let in plenty of natural light during the day, whilst a well-stocked bar and checkerboard detailing is sure to grab the eye. Its high-top tables and bar seating are suited to intimate meals or small gatherings, with a relaxed and understated feel.

The menu is rooted in seasonal British ingredients, with a focus on sustainability and local sourcing. Dishes are designed to highlight the best of what’s available, with a balance of creativity and simplicity, placing the emphasis on thoughtful cooking techniques that showcase the high-quality produce. Whilst . menus change regularly to reflect the seasons, guests can expect a selection of smaller plates such as lamb tartare with Beechwood yolk and sourdough, or tempura monkfish with sauce gribiche, kohlrabi and radish. Larger options include Devon crab risotto with radish, pickles and chilli, or Cotswold minute steak with ‘nduja butter and salad.

Those visiting earlier on a weekend can enjoy a selection of brunch plates, with sweet and savoury options that span French toast with roasted rhubarb and vanilla ice cream, or smashed peas with wild garlic and mint yoghurt served with poached eggs and streaky bacon. Classic options are also available from full cooked breakfast to breakfast toasties with bacon jam and fried eggs. Be sure to wash everything down with a coffee, a cocktail, or can upgrade to turn their brunch into a three-course feast with free-flowing drinks.
