At The Spurstowe Arms on Greenwood Road in East London, Dough Hands make their appearance armed with pizzas for dinner service on weekdays, and for lunch on weekends. The pub and kitchen don't take reservations, meaning that all tables, whether inside or in the garden, are for walk-ins only.
An effortlessly cool, and East London to the core, The Spurstowe Arms feels like the perfect spot for pizzas and beers. Think classic pub interiors with vintage chandeliers, mismatched wooden chairs, candles on each table and eclectic decor.
The Dough Hands menu at The Spurstowe Arms covers all the classics, but there are some twists available too. So alongside margherita pizzas with quality grana padano, expect spicy tuna pizzas with Calabrian chilli and red onion, a ‘Jode’ number with njuda and hot honey, and the ‘Shroomy’ with soy roasted mushrooms, taleggio cheese, tarragon and garlic. To accompany, there’s also a selection of side dishes, ranging from classic garlic bread with chive and parsley butter to Caesar salad.
To finish, expect Happy Endings signature ice cream sandwich desserts like ‘The Naughty One’ a miso salted caramel parfait with chocolate Guinness cake, ‘The Gay One’ with malt shortbread and honeycomb. For vegan diners, Dough Hands at The Spurstowe Arms, offers plant based pizza and dessert, including the East Side Vegan corn ice cream with salted caramel.
Dough Hands is passionate about its suppliers and ingredients. All tomato sauce uses San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella is made in the UK using British milk, and the vegan cheese is sourced from London-based manufacturer I AM NUT OK. Plus, flour is sourced from Shipton Mill and Wildfarmed (both of which use regenerative practices to produce their flour), while nduja and pepperoni come from Cobble Lane Cured in North London.
