Comptoir Libanais’ founder set up the chain with the dream of making ‘Lebanese food as popular as Italian food’, and although this may seem like an almost impossible task, locations of this chain are popping up all over the UK.
Comptoir Libanais’ Chelsea outpost sits just off Sloane Square, offering a vibrant and colourful spot to tuck into bold Middle-Eastern flavours, whether you’re looking for a relaxed evening spot for dinner and drinks, or for somewhere to put a twist on your next breakfast. Inside you’ll find Comptoir Libanais’ staple decor, with extravagant murals, mosaic-tiled walls and floors, ornately designed crockery that plasters the walls, as well as pastel pink, green and blue chairs that are found throughout the restaurant.
Menus here sport give diners an authentic taste of Lebanese, North African and Middle Eastern cuisines. Begin your evening with a selection of nibbles and small plates, including the likes of whipped feta with flatbreads, slow-grilled chicken wings with cinnamon and garlic sauce, as well as mezze platters, for one or two, laden with hommos, baba ghanuj, falafel, quinoa tabbouleh served with homemade flatbread.
When it comes to the mains, you’ll find everything from rice bowls to open wrap platters, as well as a hefty selection of dishes straight from the grill. Tuck into the likes of a crispy falafel rice bowl topped with tahina sauce, pickled peppers and crispy onions, or a baked spanish, feta and onion filo pastry parcel with Fattoush salad, and a lamb kofta and butter bean tagine served with vermicelli rice and a mint yoghurt sauce.
The breakfast menu is equally as flavourful. Here, you’ll find dishes such as halloumi and sumac man’ousha flatbread with slow-roasted tomato, zaatar and Kalamata olives, or shakshuka eggs topped with feta and pickled chilli. Pair this with a fresh rose mint tea or a tahina and date molasses latte for the complete breakfast experience.
