Part of the Malmaison hotel group, Malmaison Brighton is a sunny, seaside outpost right on the waterfront. Situated in a seaview conservatory, the Chez Mal Brasserie is the hotel’s in-house restaurant, specialising in British food with a French twist.
Overlooking the Brighton Marina, Malmaison Brighton is ideally located to reach Brighton Palace Pier and The Lanes, by taking a scenic walk along the beach. The restaurant’s interiors are sophisticated, dark and moody with red leather booths, counter dining and high tables. In summer, step out onto the sun-soaked terrace and enjoy views of fishing boats in the harbour.
Conjoined with the brasserie is the Chez Mal Bar which serves signature cocktails, like a Cherry Manhattan or a Charcoal Gimlet. You’ll also find a bar menu featuring daytime snacks like fish finger wraps and BLT rolls, as well as evening dishes like tuna tartare tacos and a blue cheese burger.
The brasserie’s a la carte menu features sophisticated starters such as a sticky beef fillet noodle salad and burratina and heritage tomato salad. For mains, there’s risotto primavera, chicken Milanese and a grilled pork chop as well as a variety of steaks, including fillet, flat iron and New York strip steak. Pair with sides like black truffle and parmesan fries, drizzle with a choice of sauce - bearnaise, peppercorn or cafe de paris butter - and round off the meal with a delicious dessert, like creme brulee and sticky toffee pudding.
There’s also a breakfast menu, featuring classic dishes, like a full cooked breakfast as well as sweet numbers, such as cinnamon brioche French toast. For those celebrating, check out the bottomless brunch menu with unlimited Prosecco, Aperol Spritz’, Mimosas and Cruzcampo.
For hotel guests and visitors alike, Malmaison Brighton boasts a diverse food offering, to be enjoyed with views of the ocean.
