Casa Tua is a much-loved, local Italian in Camden, founded in 2013 by Giuseppe and Massimo, featuring authentic recipes inspired by their hometowns across the Mediterranean and Southern Italy.
At Casa Tua, the name says it all. Meaning 'your home' in Italian, Giuseppe's dream was always to create a place in London that harked back to the dishes his mother made, using proper Italian ingredients and even giving guests the chance to shop for their own pantries. The team pride themselves on feeling like a home from home, too, with friendly service and decor that feels reminiscent of Sicilian trattorias.
Food is served all day here. First thing is all about breakfast with croissants stuffed with pistachio ricotta, Nutella, ricotta and chocolate drops, there's also avocado on toasted Altamura bread, finished with mint, sea salt and citrus, or organic porridge with mixed berry compote.
For lunch, mix smaller dishes like burrata, Prosciutto di Parma and cantaloupe finished with balsamic vinegar of Modena, as well as homemade aubergine balls served with spicy, rustic yellow datterino compote and beetroot cured salmon with homemade courgette puree, lemon ricotta, chilli jam and Tarallo biscuit.
There's a focus on homemade pasta and risotto at Casa Tua, with one of the best-selling options being the pasta experience which lets two people try any three pastas from the menu, served with warm scarpetta bread. If you're a pasta fan, though, you should definitely check out the full menu with asparagus and garden pea risotto and tagliatelle with king oyster mushrooms, Italian sausage and black truffle cream.
Other mains include pan-fried wild seabass served with Scottish mussels, Palourde clams and homemade courgette cream, as well as buttermilk breaded chicken breast served with homemade King Edward potato puree, sauteed green asparagus and arrabbiata sauce, and a selection of gourmet pizzas, proving that Casa Tua has plenty to choose from.
