Found on Bedminster’s East Street, Can Can Pizza is a lively, informal pizzeria serving up Neapolitan-style pies in a sociable setting ideal for quick bites and informal lunches. With a menu of crowd-pleasing flavours, canned beers and local brews, it works best for casual dinners, group gatherings, birthdays and impromptu dinners. Its soft, blistered pizzas are keenly priced too, making it a firm favourite in the area.
Interiors at CanCanPizza reflect that same sense of casual charm. The dining room is compact and high-energy, featuring glittery light fixtures, exposed brick walls and long bench-style seating that lean into the laid-back atmosphere. To the rear is a small courtyard, set out with bench tables and lit with festoon lighting, making it perfect for summertime.
As for the CanCanPizza menu, the team leaves that almost totally up to you, offering a build-your-own setup, where guests choose their own sauce, toppings and crust dips. All pizza dough is cold-fermented for 72 hours, stretched by hand and topped generously with homemade tomato sauce, parmigiano reggioano, Glastonbury flor di latte mozzarella, fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil. Pizza base options include a classic margherita (as described above), a white base margherita, marinara, and a vegan ‘sheese’ margherita.
Then, guests are invited to add their choice of toppings. Vegan options include grilled artichokes, portobello mushrooms, caramelised onion chutney, roasted red peppers, semi-dried tomatoes, pineapple, black olives and much more. You’ll also find jalapenos, fresh rocket, spicy ‘nduga, mild pepperoni, prosciutto cruso, Napoli salami (mild or hot), anchovies and extra servings of flor di latte. Sauces for dipping include Parmesan mayo, chilli jam, and pancetta and paprika mayonnaise, while desserts include Nutella dough balls, tiramisu, and homemade chocolate brownies.
