Bucks Bar West Regent Street

Buck’s Bar is a lively bar and eatery which specialises in authentic buttermilk fried chicken. There are currently two locations: one is West Regent St Takeaway and the other is on Trongate Takeaway.

The menu centres entirely on chicken and seems to have the attitude that it’s better to do one thing well, than a spectrum of dishes without authority. The venue’s signature dish is the classic buttermilk fried chicken which is marinated for 24 hours and coated in a special recipe crust. If you love spicy food then the Nashville hot style chicken may catch your attention. Based on a local speciality from Nashville Tennessee, this offering is made up of three pieces of fried chicken dipped in a fiery red chilli oil then served on soft white bread with pickles. You can pick your own level of heat, ranging from hot, damn hot and double XX. Other chicken-based options include wings in a variation of different sauces and waffles.

It may be a surprise that Buck’s Bar caters for vegetarians, but sure enough there four veggie options including a jackfruit burger and southern fried haloumi. Buck’s bar is open every day from 12noon until 10pm, with last sitting starting at 9pm outside and 9.30pm inside.

In terms of atmosphere, the Buck’s Bar team appear to be passionate about rock and roll music, and invite DJs to play at the weekends.
