BLOODsports by MEATliquor is not your average sports bar. Tucked away near Seven Dials in Covent Garden, this late-night hangout combines live sport, cult horror films, arcade-style entertainment and MEATliquor’s famously indulgent food menu, creating a venue that’s as much about the atmosphere as what’s on your plate.
The space includes a standout vaulted ceiling with red neon lighting that casts an almost cinematic glow across the room. Eclectic artwork covers the walls, booths and tables are spaced throughout the venue and a large wraparound bar anchors the room. More than 30 screens show everything from major sporting events to cult horror classics, while pool tables, darts and pinball machines help fuel the playful, after-dark energy.
Food is served late into the evening, with many of MEATliquor’s best-known dishes making an appearance. Snacks at BLOODsports include fried pickles, Monkey Fingers, deep-fried mac and cheese bites and chicken wings tossed in either buffalo or tom katsu barbecue sauce. Hot dogs range from the Chicago Dog to the Chilli Cheese Dog and The Ripper, while burgers include the much-loved Dead Hippie, stacked with mustard-fried double beef patties, American cheese, lettuce, pickles, onions and the restaurant’s signature sauce. Guests at BLOODsports can also tuck into half fried chicken breast, loaded fries, hash browns and a variety of dipping sauces and extras.
Those with room for dessert can choose between a brown butter and popcorn sundae, Belgian milk and dark chocolate brownie or Filth Pie, a warm combination of Oreo, coconut, marshmallow and chocolate served with milk ice cream. The drinks list is just as lively, featuring draft and bottled beers, wines, soft drinks and a broad cocktail selection. Alongside frozen margaritas and cosmos, expect house creations such as Duck Me Sideways, Son of a Peach and Pulp Fiction, plus Bloody Marys and shots.
