Gin advent calendars: The best ones to get you in the Christmas spirit

It’s that time of year again; time to start thinking about what advent calendar you will be indulging in to help your build up to Christmas. With so many different variations now on the market, this decision could be one of the hardest you make all season and you definitely don’t want to get it wrong. This is serious stuff.

Now, you could go for the classic and simple Dairy Milk chocolate advent calendar, but to be honest this option feels a little childish and boring in a world full of varied and exciting calendars. You could also opt for one filled with cosmetics and other luxurious goodies, but they can sometimes cost more than you were planning to spend all Christmas. So how about you go for something in the middle and get yourself a gin advent calendar (yes they exist) instead?

YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE

We aren’t of course suggesting that you down a bottle of this popular spirit before you head off to work, but wouldn’t it be nice to have it to look forward to when you come home after a long day. Alternatively, you could save them up to enjoy on a Friday night or weekend, if that’s not cheating?  For gin-lovers, some of these calendars also give you the chance to taste a number of different gins so you might even find you discover a new favourite flavour of gin, or even a new brand all together.

You’d be surprised how many options there are out there, with a number of different distilleries all trying their hand at creating the ultimate advent calendar. With most of them costing a fair bit more than a standard chocolate calendar, it’s extra important to be completely sure of what you’re buying beforehand. So, to help out, we’ve put together a list of the best gin advent calendars so you can weigh up the pros and cons of each one before you decide.
