From the team behind Wildflowers comes Bar Flor, a vibrant new addition to Belgravia’s dining and drinking scene. Opening above their acclaimed debut restaurant in Newson’s Yard, chef Aaron Potter and interior stylist Laura Hart have created a space that feels both playful and refined. The name 'Flor' nods to flowers and the delicate layer that forms during wine aging, setting the tone for a concept rooted in character and craft.
Bar Flor is all about conviviality, with a dynamic wine list that champions bold, expressive bottles from independent producers and lesser-known growers. Expect an ever-evolving selection alongside vermouths, Basque cider, and cocktails like the Adonis – a sophisticated mix of Cocchi Torino vermouth, Manzanilla sherry and orange bitters.
Food takes its cue from the founders’ love of Spain, with a carousel of authentic pintxos and tapas designed for sharing. Pintxos include prawn with Ibérico guanciale, Cantabrian anchovy, seafood gildas, and blue cheese with salt-baked quince. Tapas dishes bring a creative twist: Holiday potatoes ‘bravas’ reimagine a Wildflowers favourite, while mussel escabeche and a calamari sandwich showcase Potter’s flair. Sweet endings feature Basque cheesecake, almond turron, and chocolate cremosa with macadamia and olive oil.
Laura Hart’s interiors mirror Wildflowers’ warmth but inject the energy of a Basque pintxos bar. Timber tones, soft lighting and a striking floral mural by Jo Faulkner create a relaxed yet vibrant backdrop, with seating spanning bar stools, high-tops and cosy banquettes.
Open Wednesday to Saturday evenings, Bar Flor is perfect for intimate drinks or lively gatherings. Private hire is available, accommodating up to 80 standing or 20 seated for feasting menus – ideal for those looking to celebrate in style.
