About

Located in the heart of Digbeth, in Birmingham city centre, vegan restaurant BA-HA began its days back in 2018 and comes from co-founders Frankie Heekin and Becky Powell. The pair were driven on exploring the world of plant based dining, and wanted to create an experience where guests find that food does the talking and they can eat with a guilt-free conscience. BA-HA comes from the Gaelic word, Beatha, which translates into live, livelihood, food and substance. So, you can just imagine what kind of place you're heading to.

You'll find plenty of tasty treats on the menu, including Kentucky 'wings' which are made from oyster mushroom, golden-battered until crispy and seasoned with a blend of Kentucky-inspired spices. Another chicken-but-not-chicken choice is the chick*n waffles, which are the perfect balance of sweet and savoury, featuring crispy waffles topped with the Kentucky wings and drizzled with a spicy chilli maple syrup, served with a dollop of refreshing herb cream, crunchy slaw and fresh chilli. Yummy! There are plenty of BA-HA burgers to choose from, which will satisfy your meaty cravings without the guilt. All options are served with seasoned fries and salad sides, and there are choices of chicken burgers with house marinara, chz sauce, truffle mayo and rocket, and a classic plant-based cheese burger with melted vegan cheese, crispy lettuce and a tangy homemade sauce.

From the plant-based perfection menu there is a mutt*n stew which is slow-cooked with tender, seasonal vegetables in a savoury, flavourful broth and served alongside creamy mashed potatoes, to deliver the classic flavours of a traditional stew. Heartwarming and mega delicious. From the oven, try the chilli mince calzone with veggies, with a generous filling of spicy plant-based chilli mince, or one of the many sourdough pizza options. Last but not least, don't skip the fudgy brownie sundae for dessert, layered with vegan vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
