In the heart of Liverpool, Ayuthaya brings the vibrant flavours of Thailand to life with authentic cooking, warm interiors and a lively atmosphere. Open for dinner, this inviting Thai restaurant is a popular choice for birthdays, group dining and anyone in search of bold flavours in a relaxed yet stylish setting.
Owners Kris and Thanita first launched their Thai food venture with Thai 2 Go Takeaway, which still runs today, before opening Ayuthaya to deliver restaurant-quality Thai cuisine to Merseyside. Their chefs, trained at Bangkok University and experienced in prestigious Thai hotels, ensure every dish combines authenticity with finesse.
The menu balances crowd-pleasing classics with house specialities. Expect starters such as moo ping pork skewers, spring rolls or Thai prawn toast, followed by fragrant soups like tom yum. Signature mains include chargrilled turmeric chicken on a sizzling skillet, duck in tamarind sauce and buttered king prawns, alongside curries including Thai green or red, Massaman and Panang. Noodle and rice dishes like Pad Thai and drunken noodles are firm favourites, while banquet menus make sharing easy for groups.
The restaurant’s decor adds to the experience: a warm, neutral palette with slate-grey touches, large landscape photographs of Thailand and art-inspired details. Globe lighting, cosy seating and art-lined walls create a welcoming space that feels both contemporary and characterful.
Ayuthaya is fully licensed, serving wines, cocktails, a vast gin menu and bottles of Singha beer. Desserts are playful and indulgent, from homemade deep-fried ice cream to chocolate spring rolls. With vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, plus a dedicated kids’ menu, Ayuthaya Liverpool combines versatility with charm, making it a standout Thai restaurant in the city.
