If you’re looking for something different to a classic British afternoon tea, look no further than the luxurious Pan Pacific London hotel located on Liverpool Street, which serves afternoon tea with a Singaporean twist.
Pan Pacific's inventive menus and extensive tea offering has earned it a reputation as one of London's best afternoon teas, and the latest tea menu pays homage to the group's Singaporean ethos, taking inspiration from the renowned Singaporean landmark Gardens by the Bay with a bounty of delicate patisserie treats. Specifically, the afternoon tea looks to the Garden's Floral Fantasy conservatory, with patisserie items inspired by the four areas of floral fantasy within the conservatory: Dance, Float, Waltz and Drift.
Traditional scones make way for matcha scones and steamed pandan mantou alongside kaya jam, a signature Singaporean coconut spread, and savoury treats include deep fried milk and a siu mai basket of prawn, spinach and beef.
If you are more of a traditionalist, the Orchid Lounge also offers its Traditional Delights Afternoon Tea menu, with classic British sandwiches and scones. In the lead-up to Christmas, afternoon tea takes on a festive theme with traditional sandwiches, turkey sausage rolls and cranberry scones.
Whichever menu you choose, there is also a carefully curated accompanying drinks list to enjoy with your food. The dedicated Tea Connoisseur will be on hand to advise on an extensive collection of teas from the Rare Tea Company. Choose from black, white, green, oolong and herbal varieties. If you really want to add something special to your visit, choose a glass of something bubbly, with Champagnes and world-renowned English Sparkling Wines starting at £15 a glass.
