Ace Pizza Victoria Park is the culinary vision of Rachel Jones, who builds on the reputation she developed at The Pembury Tavern to establish her first permanent pizzeria in Victoria Park Village. Her pizzas, born of a love for Italian-American comfort food and childhood summers with her aunt in Italy, are a joyous reimagining of nostalgia and craft.
The interior is a playful homage to 1980s nostalgia, where warm pink and soft yellow tones meet chestnut wood panelled walls and plush booth seating reminiscent of a disco diner given a mid-century modern twist . The result feels fresh yet familiar - a design that invites laughter and lingering over slices with friends.
Central to the menu is Ace Pizza’s signature 'London-style' 12-inch pie, crafted from dough slow-fermented for over 48 hours using a biga starter. The crust combines the chew and char of Neapolitan dough with the structure and foldability of a New York slice, a tactile experience, crisp at the edge yet yielding beneath your bite . Standouts include the Honey Pie with fior di latte, spicy salami, fennel seeds, guindilla chillies and chilli honey for a sweet-spicy harmony. The vegan Clapton Cowboy riffs boldly: plant-based Texas 'beef,' jalapeños, pickled pink onions and chipotle ranch drizzle. A seasonal Vodka Marg features vodka sauce, house pesto and Gran Moravia cheese, with optional pepperoni.
Alongside pizzas there are pizza sandwiches ideal for a lunch fix, slow-cooked Dexter beef meatballs cloaked in rich marinara, and a show-stopping Caesar salad. For dessert, rotating house-made soft-serve ice creams arrive with playful toppings to round out the sense of fun.
The drinks offering is daring and spirited: chilli honey margaritas stand out on the cocktail list, while craft beer on tap is supplied by Five Points Brewery to pair neatly with the bold flavours of the pizzas.
Service is warm and enthusiastic, matching the overall tone: friendly staff who know each pizza’s story and can guide on pairings.
