Once a private gentleman’s club, the Racquet Club Hotel blends countryside charm with city chic, and boasts a gorgeous private dining room and gallery room. The family-run business finds its home inside a beautiful historic building, right next to Liverpool Parish Church and the McCartney steps.
Located on the ground floor of the venue, the private dining room has two open doorways through to the restaurant, giving it an exclusive feel without losing the buzz of the main dining room. Birthday celebrations, corporate dinners and special occasions all work well in this space, with room for 22 guests boardroom-style or 30 in a slightly cosier layout. The bright, light room is decorated with antique drapes, vintage candlesticks and sophisticated artwork. This picture-perfect room effortlessly merges historic elegance with refined touches.
Elsewhere, discover the Gallery Room, which is located near the entrance to the hotel and is completely private, making it ideal for exclusive meetings and formal occasions. The space can host up to 30 people, with capacity for a boardroom-style table or three round tables. The hotel also hosts art events in this room, so it’s a great option for corporate entertaining and networking too.
The kitchen is led by Ziba - the hotel’s on-site restaurant - and offers modern European dining, from lunch menus to afternoon tea. Examples of dishes you might find on the menu include seared scallops with butternut squash puree and beetroot foam, or slow roasted duck breast with mulled pears, celeriac and rosti potato. For private dining bookings, a set menu is available and the hotel also boasts a sophisticated wine list and wider drinks menu to complement the dinner.
