Founded by Nisha Katona, Mowgli is a popular Indian street food restaurant, built around an ethos of communal dining. The restaurant is designed to feel like an extension of Nisha’s kitchen, where guests feel both at home, and transported to the streets of India at the same time. It’s a welcoming place in which to gather your nearest and dearest for a comforting private dinner.
The semi-private dining room sits in the heart of the restaurant, softly sectioned off by Mowgli’s signature ropes. The space seats 16 people, with room for 20 standing, and features a long wooden dining table. Overhead, ropes drape from the ceiling and hanging lanterns cast a warm glow. A sense of privacy is created by a row of shelves that’s lined with glowing Mason jars filled with fairy lights.
In terms of food, the restaurant offers three carefully curated set menus, as well as bespoke catering services with custom menus. Since Mowgli is all about sharing, The Sharing Menu and The Grand Table menu are designed to be split between two. Both options include Mowgli’s famous Yogurt Chat Bombs, three curries, rice and roti. The standard Sharing Menu comes with Fenugreek Kissed Fries while The Grand Menu offers a greater selection, including Himalayan Cheese Toast, as well as a glass of Champagne and either a bottle of house wine or Estrella beer.
To be served individually, choose The Feasting Menu which kicks off with a glass of bubbles. The food menu follows a similar fashion, including Yogurt Chat Bombs, two curries, rice and a choice of street chat, like Gunpowder Chicken. Don’t forget dessert - dig into Salted Caramel Ice Cream or Mowgli Chocolate Brownie.
