Mare Street Market started off in Hackney, making a name for itself as a multi-use space spanning restaurants and bars, a deli, interiors store and even a florist. A second site in King's Cross takes this same concept and executes it again beautifully in a more central location. From vintage shopping to a tattoo studio and karaoke room, Mare Street Market King's Cross has loads to see and do, and if you're looking for somewhere dynamic to host a special occasion, there are plenty of private dining options, too.
There are a whole mix of areas, depending on what you're looking for. If an intimate supper is on the cards, the private dining room can cater for up to 60 people, while full venue hire can host an impressive 500 - which means big bashes, birthdays and even weddings are welcome here.
The other good news is you won't have to go elsewhere to organise food, the in-house team have got it covered. The team can plan a seasonal, set menu with multiple courses for you, if that's what's desired, or for a more relaxed feel, sharing platters and stone-baked pizzas can be passed around the table. Or, if you're ready to push the boat out, work with the chefs to develop a bespoke menu that exactly suits your taste.
Private dining events are welcome across brunch, lunch and dinner, with options to add drinks packages including signature cocktails, organic wines, craft beers and non alcoholic options, too.
Another option is to request their Michelin-recommended restaurant, Island, which also offers private dining events. Taking over Island can include hanging out in the lounge with cocktails and canapes, and moving through to the main restaurant for an elevated dining experience. With a photo booth, capacity for live music and kareoke space on site, there's also plenty of extras to keep your guests entertained all night.
