Tucked away in Islington’s Camden Passage, Frederick’s has been hosting celebrations big and small for over five decades - and it’s easy to see why. With a variety of handsome private dining spaces, a seasoned events team, and a warm, family-run spirit, this modern European restaurant makes organising an event feel refreshingly straightforward.
The Club Room is the largest of Frederick’s private dining spaces, with room for up to 40 seated guests or 50 standing. Hidden behind the main bar, it feels distinct but connected - ideal for lively birthdays, engagement parties, and intimate wedding receptions. The space has its own private bar, a lovely terrace, and views over the garden, giving it a grown-up but relaxed atmosphere. It’s also kitted out with a 75” screen and sound system, whether you're showing a photo slideshow, need a screen for a meeting, or fancy Wimbledon in the background. There's flexibility with seating plans and menus too, with options to pre-order from the à la carte or opt for a tailored menu.
Upstairs, The Clarence Room offers a more classic setting. It seats up to 20 guests on a single table (or 28 across multiple tables), with its own bar and sound system. Once a drawing room, the space has been smartly refurbished but retains its charm. It’s ideal for corporate lunches, family get-togethers or small celebrations, and also works well for meetings, thanks to the concealed screen and TV.
For bigger events, full venue hire is available on Sundays (when the restaurant is closed to the public), and by arrangement at other times. You can seat up to 120 for a meal and host up to 220 for a canapé reception. Whether you’re planning a bar mitzvah, wedding, christening, or a milestone birthday party, Frederick’s offers the kind of polished-but-personal atmosphere that’s hard to fake. With options for dancing, entertainment and even a photo booth, the team here really know how to throw a party - without losing the charm of a family-run institution.
