Forage Kitchen offers flexible private dining in the Vale of Glamorgan, combining countryside views, modern rustic interiors and seasonal menus suited to everything from birthday celebrations and family gatherings to corporate dinners and relaxed group events. Part of a field-to-fork farm shop, restaurant and butchery on Penllyn Estate near Cowbridge, the venue also includes a takeaway offering and regularly hosts food-led events throughout the year.
For private dining events, Forage Kitchen's Green Room space accommodates up to 20 guests and offers an intimate setting with sage green walls, rich wooden floorboards and a vaulted sloping ceiling. Natural wood finishes and soft lighting create a cosy atmosphere suited to smaller private dinners and celebrations. The Glass Room also seats up to 20 guests, providing a bright contemporary dining space with floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic views across the lawns.
For larger private dining, the main restaurant can host between 40 and 80 guests, with adjoining spaces increasing capacity further. High ceilings with exposed wooden beams, industrial-style lighting, rattan pendants and expansive windows create a modern countryside feel filled with natural textures and light.
Private dining menus at Forage Kitchen are highly flexible depending on the style of event. Guests can choose from canapes, finger buffets, fork buffets, formal three-course dining or more casual burger and pizza menus. Canapes include smoked salmon roulade, pigs in blankets with red onion marmalade and breaded brie, while fork buffet menus feature dishes such as beetroot, goat’s cheese and walnut salad, pan-fried cod and sticky toffee pudding.
Three-course menus include starters such as chorizo scotch egg or beetroot carpaccio, mains including pan-fried cod fillet with parsley potatoes or glazed pork belly with apple compote and desserts such as chocolate mousse with honeycomb or summer berry Eton mess. Outdoor hog roast packages are available with the hire of the stretch tent on the lawn, and Forage Kitchen can offer drinks packages too, whether for relaxed or formal occasions.
