Private dining at DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre can take many forms, from large celebratory dinners with stunning views of the castle to smaller, more intimate affairs. Conveniently located near Edinburgh Old Town, DoubleTree by Hilton comes armed with four spaces for private dining events, with the addition of smaller group tables in the Monbroddo restaurant.
The most well-known space here is the SKY Suite (formerly known as SKYBar). Found on the fifth floor, looking out over the city, it’s got one of the best views of Ediburgh Casle in Edinburgh. Here, you can host dinners with up to 60 at long banquet tables, or increase the guest list to 100 with round banquet tables dotted around the space.
Larger dinners of up to 130 guests will feel right at home in The Orchardfield, while smaller private dinners with up to 20 seated guests are best placed in the Rowan. Alternatively, The Hawthorne, situated on the lower ground floor can accommodate groups of 50 at separate round tables. Whichever you look the look of, you’ll have a dedicated event coordinator to manage everything with you.
As for the food, that’s taken care of by varied set event menus at differing price points, along with canape and buffet style menus for receptions and more casual dinners. To give an indication of what to expect, starters have included the likes of ham hock terrine with mustard, piccalilli and brioche crostini; beetroot salad with walnut and goat cheese mousse, and chicken liver parfait with red onion marmalade.
Mains might include roast chicken breast with wild mushroom, oven baked salmon with dill cream sauce, beef shin roulette with carrots and gratin potato, or a Moroccan tagine with lemon and coriander. Desserts include the classics, think chocolate tart, meringue with red berry compote, and cheese platters with plum preserve and oatcakes.
