Set in the heart of Borough Market, Cafe Francois offers an elegant setting for private and group dining experiences complete with some of the best French fare around. A younger and more affordable sibling to Maison Francois, the restaurant features two distinct spaces for exclusive gatherings: a casual bar area and a more formal dining room, each catering to different event styles and group sizes.
The interiors of Café François blend classic French brasserie elements with contemporary design touches. Cafe Francois is suitable for a variety of occasions, from intimate business lunches to celebratory dinners. Wooden banquettes inspired by New York City subway benches are paired with traditional bentwood chairs, creating a unique atmosphere that is both familiar and intriguing. The space is illuminated by floor-to-ceiling Crittall-style windows, lending an airy feel to the dining areas. For larger groups, there is also a separate dining room available upstairs.
The menu at Café François features French staples reimagined with global culinary influences. Guests can expect a range of options, from classic breakfast and brunch items to more substantial lunch and dinner offerings. Standout dishes include rotisserie chicken, steak tartare, and a selection of flatbreads and sandwiches. For groups between nine and 15 guests, Cafe Francois offers a selection of brilliant set menus complete with some of the best dishes from the a la carte.
Dinner menus are made for sharing and might include entrees like comte gougeres, celeriac remoulade, and anchovies with brioche and cafe de Paris butter, followed by plates of fish du jour, prime rib, and rotisserie chicken, accompanied by a variety of sides. But it’s not just dinner, this is a cafe through and through. So group dining at Cafe Francois can also include a variety of brunch plates from chia pudding with passionfruit, to classic (and very tasty) pastries and traditional eggs benedict.
