If you’ve got a special occasion coming up that deserves celebrating in style, Bardo St James certainly ticks the all-out-glamour box. Its concept is hinged on the Dolce Vita era of 50s Italia with luxurious decor and decadent food. Imagine red velvet seating, glittering chandeliers overhead and soulful crooners on the low-lit stage while tucking into caramelised black cod with crudaiola sauce.
While the main restaurant is undoubtedly divine, the likes of a big birthday or important client meeting might call for a private dining area, and luckily Bardo St James has several. The Private Dining Room is the most intimate space with a capacity of up to 16 guests. It’s a grand room with a dark, polished wood dining table, leopard print chairs and black and white photographs of Italian movie stars adorning the walls. While the menu will most certainly adhere to the restaurant’s dedication to premium Italian cuisine, the team will discuss your bespoke options with you upon booking. Each place will receive its own name card and printed menus will also be laid out for guests to peruse.
If a small get together isn’t what you had in mind, how about throwing a proper party? Say hello to the Kinnaird Room, a deliciously decorated lounge with sinkable chesterfield sofas, fringed boudoir chairs, flamboyant palm plants and a mix of patterned, textured fabrics. This fabulous space can hold 100 people standing and 30 seated. It comes with its own private bar and a DJ booth so you can host the party of the year in total privacy.
Back in the main restaurant, there are options to rearrange tables to section off an exclusive space for you and your guests. This means benefitting from the atmospheric hubbub of other diners and enjoying live music performances, too.
