The Porterhouse almost needs no introduction - a Covent Garden staple since 2000, it's been a thriving, vibrant hub of food, drinks, live music and sport in the famous Piazza for over 20 years. Its sister venue shares the same name and can be found in Dublin's Temple Bar, an iconic nightlife spot which just further sets the tone for this venue as a place for good times only.
The Porterhouse is spread over three floors, each one with its own bar. You can speak to the team about taking over a corner, a whole floor or even the entire venue, by dropping them an email and sharing details of your event. For dinners of under 30 people, you can simply reserve a larger table online, but for bookings over that number the team will step in to help.
In terms of the space, think richly-hued Chesterfield booths and wooden panelled walls for a cosy, old school vibe that feels pub-like but in an elevated way. Whether you're picturing an evening meal, a cocktail reception or a full-on party, anything goes here. As for food, while there isn't an events menu pre-prepared you can take a look at the seasonal a la carte for an idea of what to expect. For example, sharing plates include cajun jerk halloumi served with pomegranate and herbs, alongside Korean vegan tenders and BBQ sharing ribs.
The Irish Spice Bags sound brilliant and nod to the original Dublin flagship, with the 'fully loaded' combining salt and chilli chips, crispy chicken, Chinese pork ribs, mixed veg, spring rolls and hoisin duck gyoza with curry sauce, sweet sour sauce and hoisin sauce. Main dishes look like the Porterhouse Smash Burger with beef, cheese, bacon, Irish stout bbq and salad with pickles and crispy onions, as well as the Irish Stout BBQ Ribs which include a hearty portion of pork loin ribs, Irish stout bbq glaze, chips and onion rings.
