The Black Barn at Roundwood

The Black Barn at Roundwood offers rustic, countryside charm in a rural setting for a whole host of events in Hampshire - set up for corporate away days, wellness retreats, birthday parties and even weddings. Set in the heart of a family-run farm, The Black Barn is the gem in the crown here, acting as a centrepoint for the whole site. 

The structure dates back to the 1800s and has seen many uses over the years, but since the 1980s has been mainly used to host family parties and events. In 2024, the owners decided to invest in a refurbishment to bring it up to modern standards, and are now welcoming guests to enjoy their beautiful farmland and historic barn, too. 

The barn itself is a fascinating example of farming history, with an abundance of features from its time as a grain store such as marks across the floor where carts would have collected the grain, to the stunning exposed ceiling and gorgeous beams all across the walls which have been carefully preserved. 

Here, you can host up to 90 guests seated, but the team ask that you share your vision and they can create a format that works for your event. It could be long family-style tables, smaller rounded tables or more of a presentation set-up, and capacity will depend on your unique plans. The barn also benefits from an outdoor courtyard which is best enjoyed in the warmer months, but there are options to ensure cover when the weather is a little more unreliable. 

In terms of capabilities, there is a small on-site kitchen which can handle light refreshments but if you'd like a three-course meal, for example, the team can share a list of approved suppliers with you who know how to work with the venue. While the barn doesn't have a license to sell alcohol, you can bring your own for a corkage fee.
