A new immersive experience lands in London

When was the last time you watched a brick wall disintegrate to unveil a prowling tiger? Or approach a window and watch the view zoom in tenfold?

We had to see it to believe it when we were invited to Origin Experience. The tech wizards at Crucial FX have created an underground space in SE1 that gives event professionals a sensory experience that we’ve never seen done before. Able to be used for brainstorms, client entertainment and as a showroom, it will no doubt attract creatives looking for something new from the ever-growing immersive market.

Heading down to the basement at members club The Ministry, MD Mark Rivkin tells us that the company has been waiting for a permanent site for a while: ‘We’ve been looking for a cool venue in London to show what is possible with event technology. When they built The Ministry, we knew we’d found it. They loved Origin, and made us our own soundproof space to use to showcase what we can do.’

Seating up to six people, the curated experience lasts for 10 minutes, and gives delegates an idea of what can be done using holographics, augmented projection mapping and pyrotechnics. It’s part playroom, part amusement ride, and the likes of Adidas, Nike and Dyson have all been charmed, using the team to create something special for their own events, all over the world.

Want to see it for yourself? The guys will be showcasing the experience to event professionals throughout 2019. You can get in touch by emailing them at originexperience.london
