About Saltaire Brewery

Saltaire Brewery offers a vibrant and characterful venue for private hire, set within one of Yorkshire’s most historic industrial buildings. Housed in a beautifully repurposed tram-generating station, the brewery blends original architectural features with a modern brewhouse buzz - making it the perfect backdrop for weddings, parties, corporate events or special celebrations.

Since its founding in 2003, Saltaire Brewery has been committed to creating high-quality beers with flavour and personality. That same passion and attention to detail now extends to the events it hosts. Whether you’re planning a laid-back birthday bash, a unique wedding reception or a lively team get-together, Saltaire offers a space that’s full of charm, character, and, of course, great beer.

The Brewhouse boasts soaring ceilings, exposed beams, and a warm, industrial atmosphere that can be dressed up or down to suit your occasion. It’s suitable for both small gatherings and larger events, with a layout that offers flexibility and a dedicated team on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly.

At the heart of the venue is the onsite bar, featuring up to six handpulls and eight keg lines, all stocked with fresh beer brewed just metres away. Alongside Saltaire’s award-winning beers - including their fan-favourite Triple Choc Stout - guests can also enjoy a selection of ciders, wines, and spirits. Catering options are available, and the venue works with you to tailor food and drink packages to your tastes.

Saltaire Brewery has built a strong reputation for welcoming, relaxed events with a personal touch. A small deposit for midweek bookings and a slightly larger one for weekends secures your date, and the team prides itself on offering a flexible, bespoke approach to every celebration.

We’re unlocking the gates to the brewery and inviting you, our beer fans, to discover the wonderful world of hand-crafted beers! Guided tours will give you behind the scenes access to our brewhouse allowing you to see exactly what goes into making real Yorkshire beer before sampling some award-winning brews. Tours will last around 1.5 hours and will finish with a tasting flight in our Taproom.

Join us 25th-27th September! Our Beer Festival is back for another year with three days of great beer, street food and live music.

For over 10 years our festival has been a staple in the beer festival calendar. This year, Saltaire Brewery Beer Festival is back! Join us for three days of great beer, street food and live music. As usual we will have some fruity cider goodness pouring, as well as gin and prosecco.

The main part of the festival is held within our impressive Victorian brewhouse, but also stretches throughout the site, with a huge marquee, multiple bars, incredible food and great entertainment.

Beer

We'll be pulling together a fantastic range of cask and keg beers from around the UK. This festival has always showcased the best of Yorkshire beer, and we have some really exciting collaborations to share with you too.

A vibrant food scene with 2 different street food vendors to choose from and a dessert vendor.

Tickets

A separate ticket is required for each day, and this will gain you entry.

Sessions

Your ticket gains you entry for the whole day, unless you opt for the weekend pass option.

Friday 25th September : 2pm-10pm

Saturday 26th September:12pm-10pm

Sunday 27th September: 12pm-8pm

Travel

As there is no on site parking, we suggest travelling by train, bike or foot. The nearest train station is Shipley, only a 13 minute walk from the brewery.

Children: Sorry there are no under 18s allowed into the festival and you may be asked for ID upon entry, as we operate a Challenge 25 policy.

Dogs: No dogs allowed except assistance dogs.

Access: Wheel chair access available to the majority of the festival, unfortunately our mezzanine area is not accessible at the moment.

Our Brewhouse building is part of the old tram generating station, the building is brimming with history, not just of our brewery and its people, but of the area. High ceilings and original features create a perfect backdrop to any occasion, whether it be your wedding reception, 40th birthday party or a get together with colleagues. With an onsite bar, facilities to cater food and a team of friendly staff to help your event come to life, it's the ideal destination for your private event or function. As well as beer, we also offer a range of cider, wines and spirits. We have experience in hosting birthdays, weddings and corporate events and meetings. Charlie was helpful and made good suggestions about the space and how it worked.They can sort food suppliers for you and in better weather than February the outside space is wonderful. Excellent bar of course with a good choice .Staff were flexible and available for clear up and decoration.

Can you cater to big events?

Yes, we can cater for parties of all sizes, as long as it fits within our capacity size for the venue. We also have outdoor options and can open the downstairs of our Brewhouse to cater for larger numbers. Alternatively, if you have a small party - we can cater for this too, closing off areas and making the space bespoke to your needs.

Can we serve food at our event?

Of course! You can serve food at your event and we are very happy to be flexible on your requirements, whether you'd like a buffet, food van, table service - whatever! You can source your own food supplier, or we're more than happy to share a list of trusted suppliers we regularly use.

Where is your venue?

We are located on Dockfield Road in Shipley, just a 7 minute walk from Shipley train station and 1.3 miles from Saltaire. We are lucky enough to be based on the Leeds Liverpool Canal, making us a great venue for walkers and cyclists.
