About Raven's Ait

Located in the middle of the River Thames, Raven’s Ait island is a truly unique venue in London with the stunning backdrop of water in every direction. Despite being incredibly easy to access from Central London (just 10 minutes walk from Surbiton station), the island has the feeling of a complete escape, making it an ideal venue if you’re wanting complete tranquility. With a number of different rooms available to hire exclusively, there’s bound to be a space on Raven’s Air that will be the perfect fit for your event, whether that’s a party, a wedding or a conference.

The largest of the spaces available to hire is the impressive Marquee which sits right on the edge of the island, meaning that it provides stunning views over the Thames. Able to fit up to 400 people standing, the inside of the Marquee is a completely blank canvas which means that this space is highly adaptable. So, if you’ve got a very specific idea of how you want your event to look, the marquee could be the ideal choice for you.

For smaller events, both the Thames suite and the Britannia suite are highly flexible. The latter features its own private bar, as well as bi-folding doors which lead out onto a stunning terrace; this makes it a great spot for private parties. The Thames suite is connected to the stylish main reception building which is the ideal spot to begin your event before moving on to one of the larger venues.

In terms of food, Raven’s Ait has a fantastic in-house catering team who can provide a range of different bespoke menus depending on the exact nature of your event. On top of this the island offers a number of different drinks packages, which vary from unlimited drinks, to a specific tab at either of the two fully stocked bars.

The Britannia Suite is situated in the main building with views of the Thames from two sides and a terrace overlooking Hampton Court grounds. It has its own private bar and can cater for meetings as well as private dining events and dinner dances. This flexible space is great all year round, warm and cosy in the winter with it hardwood flooring and fairy light curtain. In the summer, the bi-folding doors can be opened completely on one side, turning the terrace into an extension of the whole room

All visitors are transported to the island on our private boats where you will disembark at our ferry landing. Moving up the steps and across the courtyard and into the main building, our Reception area is the perfect space to greet guests when using the main building. Light and airy, the Reception is stylishly decorated with soft furnishings and bi-fold glass doors. A flexible space, it can be made warm and cosy for the winter and opened up for the sunny summer drinks reception. The Reception leads on to both the Thames and Britannia Suite. It can be used as a communal meet space or opened up to extend Thames Suite.

Our Marquee is the largest space on the island. This picturesque area is situated at the front of the island and offers unrivaled views of the river Thames and Hampton Court grounds. with ivory linings it offers a real blank canvas ready for you to add your own twist and make your own. It is light and airy, perfect for summer parties, conference and award dinners. turning the heaters on in the winter, it provide a stunning riverside space for Christmas festivities. The adjoining front lawn is perfect space for our popular BBQs and team building activities

Adjoining our reception, the Thames Suite is a multi- functional event space that can easily be divided into two rooms or opened up for larger functions. This flexible space has outstanding views across the River Thames and comes with it's own terrace. The room is decorated with neutral tones, a newly laid hardwood floor and benefits from natural daylight courtesy of floor to ceiling windows along the full length of the room.

Ravens Ait was a fantastic wedding venue. It’s such a special place to celebrate your big day. All our guests loved the getting coming over to the island on the boat. The island itself has incredible gardens and lovely marquee with the river running right alongside. The staff, especially Georgia, were amazing, so flexible to cater for our day despite the challenges of restrictions and the great British weather. We could feel that the day meant so much to them too in the effort and positivity they showed. All in all a truly unique place to get married, we’d highly recommend!

Myself and my wife chose Ravens Ait as the venue for our sons first birthday/christening party. Right from the word go Laura Searle was attentive to our requests, welcoming and made the whole process extremely straight forward. The BBQ food was fantastic, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming and all of our guests were super complimentary about the whole day.
