National Space Centre

If you're looking for an out-of-this-world venue in Leicester for your next event, how about the National Space Centre? A little more exciting than your local pub, this unique backdrop is the award-winning home of the Rocket Tower, six space-themed galleries and the UK’s largest Planetarium. It's a double whammy: you can learn and be entertained, while you gather and socialise. 

Events are a major part of the National Space Centre's day-to-day, with a dedicated events team as well as capacibilities and experience across running conferences, meetings, networking events, birthdays, weddings and even photoshoots and filming. There's a selection of areas fit for your function. For example, conferences are best held in the Shuttle Suite with simple, corporate-appropriate decor and presentation equipment such as screens and projectors and capacity for 200 people maximum, or 40 in a classroom set-up. 

For events or parties, the Rocket Tower is an incredible place to bring people together. You'll head to the Hub, which is the connecting section for most of the National Space Centre's galleries, where there's a space-themed bar and unique cocktail menu, complete with two real rockets hanging above - suspended for wow-worthy decoration. From here, you and your guests can explore the 42m high rocket and interactive galleries, or settle down in the full dome planetarium, which has seats for 192 people. The spaces are pleasingly flexible, with enough space for up to 300 people in the Rocket Tower or 100 if seated. If you really want to push the boat out (or, should we say, 'set the rocket off?') you could take over the entire centre with exclusive hire. This way, you can invite up to 500 people which is ideal for whole companies or larger-than-life parties. 

Catering is provided in house and the team pride themselves on a sustainable, thoughtful menu. For an example, check the online sample menu which includes the likes of cider cured salmon with green apple and fennel slaw for starters, followed by red wine braised ox cheek and horseradish mash with roast heritage carrots and red wine jus.
